She thought she’d forgotten the taste of him. The feel of his body heat when he held her close but she was wrong. Her body remembered the dance and it swayed in tandem with his. The back of her hand quickly went to her ravished lips and she shook her head.

“We can’t Kasahni. I mean your Highness,” she silently chastised herself for being so informal and so foolish. She bit her bottom lip and cast her eyes downward, attempting to hide the desire swirling behind them. “This can’t happen again. I’m sorry.” She turned from him and opened her door. His hand swooped around her middle, pulling her backward into him. She felt his need pressing into the small of her back.

“Deny me if you will this evening,” he whispered against the shell of her ear. “But know this, tomorrow is a new day; a new beginning for the two of us and henceforth, your denials of what is between us will be futile.”
