Something had to give. Someone…had to give. Kasahni knew he should stop before this madness had him impaling her upon his hardness right against the door in plain view for all to see. The throbbing ache and the heat settling in at the base of his shaft was more than he could bear. The soft moans caught in her slender throat, coupled with the bountiful curves practically had him coming undone. However, his rational self prevailed and he refused to debase her in the hall like some common concubine. This was to be his wife and not only would he not allow her to be embarrassed due to his lack of self-control, he’d never let another man cast eyes upon what was his, and so, he pulled away, breaking the kiss.

Talia was a quivering mess when their bodies parted. She’d held onto Kasahni like a life raft in a storm, using his hardened physique to anchor herself. A maelstrom of emotions washed over her and suffused her skin with electricity. Her breasts rose and fell in rhythm with her heart, and had it not been for the ribs encasing it, she was sure it would have burst forth. She thought she’d forgotten the taste of him. The feel of his body heat when he held her close but she was wrong. Her body remembered the dance and it swayed in tandem with his. Deny it verbally she may but her body knew the truth. She wanted him in the worst way, she just couldn’t let Kasahni know it. The back of her hand quickly went to her ravished lips and she shook her head “no”.

“We can’t Kasahni. I mean your Highness,” she silently chastised herself for being so informal and so foolish. She bit her bottom lip and cast her eyes downward, attempting to hide the desire swirling behind them. “This can’t happen again. I’m sorry.” She turned from him and opened her door. His hand swooped around her middle, pulling her backward into him. She felt his need pressing into the small of her back.

“Deny me if you will this evening,” he whispered against the shell of her ear. “But know this, tomorrow is a new day; a new beginning for the two of us and henceforth, your denials of what is between us will be futile.” He then kissed the spot his mouth had warmed and quickly turned on his heel to proceed the way they’d come.
